About

The Five Mile Development Group portfolio includes revitalizing the Ross/West View area in Pittsburgh's North Hills with the purchase and renovation of a group of five buildings.  Included in this revitalization is The Old Ice House, which as the former West View Ice Company building had been an important part of the community in the 1800's.  Also in this group of buildings is The Gristmill Corporate Center, which in a former life housed an auto-dealership and now incorporates 33,000 sf of distictive Class A office space.  With the design and use of antiques from local landmarks these properties uniquely reflect Pittsburgh's herritage.

Other projects include contracts as diverse as being awarded the Memorabilia Salvage contract for the demolition of Pitt Stadium.  The purchase and transformation of a derelict manufacturing facility into what is now Stone Quarry Crossing, one of the most beautifully designed landmarks in the North Hills.  The vast scope of project experience showcases the unique skill set of Don Cella and Five Mile Development Group.  Currently, Five Mile Development is a full-service firm, incorporating property management, leasing, real estate development and construction management under the same ownership control.  Five Mile Development Group's sister companies include:   Five Mile Consulting and 3101 Smallman Street, LLC., and Limelight Tile & Ceramics, LLC.

With an unparalleled track record in the use of salvaged products in the Pittsburgh area, Five Mile achieved the honor of being awarded 2006 Renovation of the Year by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

In the fall of 2009, our team purchased and updated the former Windwood Racquet Club in Wexford, PA which now houses Pure Athletex. Pure Athletex was owned by Five Mile Acquisitions and managed by Pure Hospitality and Don and Paula's daughter, Angela Arena until December 2016 which we have since sold.

In 2013, we purchased 3101 Smallman Street, Pittsburgh, PA  15201, the former Ralph J Meyer building in Pittsburgh's Strip District.  One of our family-owned businesses, Limelight Tile & Ceramics, LLC, was located in this property from 2013 until March 31, 2024 at which time it was moved to our newest property listed below...

Our newest purchases, a work in progress, is 1817 Banksville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA  15216.  It is the new home of our family-owned business LIMELIGHT TILE & CERAMICS, LLC which our son, Donald J. Cella, is the Partner/Operator .  Limelight Tile was previously located at our other building above in the Strip District which it outgrew.
